What will follow the ultra-successful showing of Alexander McQueen: Savage Beauty exhibit at The Metropolitan Museum of Art? Schiaparelli and Prada: Impossible Conversations, will open at The Metropolitan Museum’s Costume Institute May 10, 2012. Designing years apart these two women are the focus of parallel and varying approaches to fashion, beauty, convention and art.
Salvatore Ferragamo held a gala at the Louvre on March 27th - the Louvre is the home of one of the original beauties, the Mona Lisa. Salvatorre Ferragamo is sponsoring a Leonardo da Vinci exhibit called, “The Saint Anne, Leonardo da Vinci’s Ultimate Masterpiece.” The exhibit features works from the early 16th century. The exhibition will run from March 29 to June 25.
Louis Vuitton – Marc Jacobs exhibit at Les Arts Décortifs, Paris.
The exhibit chronicles the history of the fashion brands from 1854 to present. The exhibit takes the fashion conscious from Louis Vuitton’s inception and luggage creations through its modern brand development with the Marc Jacobs and Louis Vuitton collaboration.
The exhibition is set to run from March 9th until September 16th, 2012.
L’Odyssée de Cartier. Did you know Cartier’s history dates back to 1847? In 2012, Cartier is celebrating the history of the jewelry, the brand and the designs of Cartier with the short film, L’Odyssée de Cartier. The three and a half minute film will be released March 4th.
